A movie everybody should see!
Tuesday 08-19-2008 1:03pm ET
Christine and I were sucked in to the movie "The Pursuit of Happiness" the other night...

I'm not a HUGE fan of Will Smith, but I think this movie knocks it out of the park.  It's a movie based on the life of businessman Chris Gardner who was literally living on the streets of San Francisco with his son Christopher.  Chris was a bright guy who had a run of bad luck which is how he became homeless.  The real Chris with his son is...
google
The movie should be shown in EVERY business school in the country as it is a lesson of learning the system, taking advantage of opportunities and NEVER stopping until you have succeeded.  If you get a chance to see the movie on demand or at the video store I highly recommend it!

Enjoy!

Andy Rooney speaks his mind...is he crazy?
Monday 08-18-2008 6:25am ET
I don't know when Andy said these things, but he did and I wanted to pass it on to you.  I think he makes some very valid points, but "PC" he is not!

Who cares about Political Correctness anyway...I don't!

cbs

"I don't think being a minority makes you a victim of

anything except numbers. The only things I can

think of that are truly discriminatory are things like

the United Negro College Fund, Jet Magazine,

Black Entertainment Television, and Miss Black America.

Try to have things like the United Caucasian College Fund,

Cloud Magazine, White Entertainment Television, or

Miss White America; and see what happens...

Jesse Jackson will be knocking down your door.

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing

makes you a killer. You can kill someone

with a baseball bat or a car, but no one is trying

to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I believe they are called the Boy Scouts for a reason,

which is why there are no girls allowed.

Girls belong in the Girl Scouts!

ARE YOU LISTENING MARTHA BURKE?

I think that if you feel homosexuality is wrong,

it is not a phobia, it is an opinion.

I have the right "NOT" to be tolerant of others

because they are different, weird, or tick me off.

When 70% of the people who get arrested

are black, in cities where 70% of the population

is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the

Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake,

a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room,

you must do it in English! As a matter of fact,

if you want to be an American citizen,

you should have to speak English!

My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you

can leave the countries you were born in to

come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot

your sorry #$$ if you threaten them after they

tell you to stop. If you can't understand the

word "freeze" or "stop" in English,

see the above lines.

I don't think just because you were not born

in this country, you are qualified for any

special loan programs, government sponsored

bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can

open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store,

or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries

and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms,

so that decades later they could come over here

and tell us our constitution is a living document;

and open to their interpretations.

I don't hate the rich . I don't pity the poor.

I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and

television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.

I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every

penny he made and continue to make more.

If it ticks you off, go and invent the next

operating system that's better,

and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right,

but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid;

and smack their little behinds when

necessary, and say "NO!"

I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want

them, but please don't pretend they are a

political statement. And, please, stay home until

that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at

your ugly infected mouth as you

serve me French fries!

I am sick of "Political Correctness."

I know a lot of black people, and not a

single one of them was born in Africa; so

how can they be "African-Americans"?

Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around

saying I am a European-American because my

great, great, great, great, great, great

grandfather was from Europe

I am proud to be from America and nowhere else

And if you don't like my point of view, tough...

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG,

OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,

AND TO THE REPUBLIC,

FOR WHICH IT STANDS,

ONE NATION UNDER GOD , INDIVISIBLE,

WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

I was asked to send this on if I agree or delete if I don't.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.

Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why

there is such a problem in having "In God We Trust"

on our money and having "God" in the Pledge of

Allegiance.

Why don't we just tell the 14% to Shut Up and BE QUIET !!!"

...I did not see this episode so I can't confirm, but thought it was worth posting anyway.

A great email from a listener!
Friday 08-15-2008 9:24am ET
It's always nice to get email from listeners and REALLY nice when it's a compliment.  Most all the time I hear from people who are looking for info, when a prize is up for grabs or stuff like that and it's great to hear from somebody who just has some kind words to say...

Hi John,
I really appreciate the comments today on your show. I am originally from Philadelphia ( Retired Phila Police sergeant) and I live in Dover now. On my commute to work in New Castle( I am the Chief Constable for the state of De JP Courts) I always listen to your show. Its a big city show in a smaller market and could be nationally syndicated . Both you and Max are great together. Sad to say to Max, that I won't be getting an Obama's Mama shirt....lol My birthday is on the 16th and I'm sure my wife has already sent it to you. I know you are from a law enforcement family and I always appreciate your perspective on law enforcement. I know your father must have seen some rough times in California, like we did in Philly.  Good luck to your sister as she starts her career. I just wanted to also tell you thanks for Miles for minutes. I was working this year and couldn't attend. But 2 of my children proudly serve in the United States Army. They were thrilled when we sent them the flier. They get so concerned that our citizens are forgetting about them and hate to see war protests. They have served 2 tours in Iraq and may rotate back again this October. Its hard on them, their children, and us, but they will do it without hesitation because they believe in this country. They really pray we get the right President because their lives depend on it. Just as it was so important in previous elections, to secure the best person with unwavering determination ( Guts),this election is even more crucial. Senator John McCain has proudly served this country. He became a prisoner of war after his original aircraft carrier caught fire. Although burned and able to go home, he transferred to another carrier and was shot down the following week. He became a POW.Just that alone makes me feel he has earned a shot. I hope he makes it for all the soldiers, Marines, airmen/woman, and naval men/women serving. Not to mention us at home.
So thank you for all you do. Keep up the great work. I have my Blue Knight brothers/sisters buying shirts too.
Ride safe
Brian

Thanks for the email Brian and thanks for the McCain Support!  Who knows...we may all ride around election day somewhere to SHOW our support.  Speak softly and bring a biker gang with you to the polls!

One of the proudest moments of my life!
Friday 08-15-2008 6:30am ET
There are only a few things in a man's life that actually make him lose his mind:
1) first time he sees boobs
2) first time he gets a paycheck
3) when he gets his license
4) when he gets married
5) when his first child is born
6) when that child catches a ball for the first time

So last night we were on the deck just 'chillin and I decided to play ball with Jack.  He was throwing the beach ball back to me and I would catch it in the air and so I thought - maybe HE would try to catch the ball too!  Well I threw - he caught - and we got it on tape!  Check it out by clicking on the graphic...

I felt like he caught the winning touchdown pass in the Superbowl!

Thanks for sharing in my special moment.

Let's get behind our man!
Thursday 08-14-2008 8:06am ET

I looked for a picture from google that had John McCain addressing a huge biker crowd at Sturgis and came up with...drum roll please...nada/zilch/zero/nuthin' so I used his press pic.  Funny, Barack Obama farts and you've got team coverage.  Anyway, if you look to the left you'll see a "bikers for McCain" shirt that I bought for $25.00 which goes to his campaign.  I asked you to email me when/if you bought a shirt and guess what I got in my inbox today!

Hi John,
I ordered one for myself, my wife, and kids. We are for John.
Thanks
Brian

Thanks Brian and I look forward to getting more emails from supporters of our Man McCain!

Who loves the HOFF?

David Hasselhoff was in Malibu over the weekend showing those who looked on what he's got...a sweet tank top, cool camo shorts and a hot set of wheels.  He drives one of the coolest Audi's on the road today and he knows it.  Now we get to the Hoff's obsession with self promotion and take a look at the back of his ride...

Aaaaaaaa Yeaaaaaa! The back of his car actually has his website on it!  Why didn't I think of that?

...and this is why McCain is my MAN!
Monday 08-11-2008 1:33pm ET
I saw this article last week and wanted to post it up on the blog.  Remember that Johnny Mac spoke at the NAACP a few weeks back too and now he's talking to bikers in Sturgis?  If you support McCain, buy a shirt by clicking on the shirt to the left and let me know by sending me an email.  Who knows...maybe we'll ride for the cause this Fall!

STURGIS, S.D. - Thousands of motorcyclists greeted Republican presidential candidate John McCain with an approving roar Monday as he sought blue-collar and heartland support by visiting a giant motorcycle rally.

"As you may know, not long ago a couple hundred thousand Berliners made a lot of noise for my opponent. I'll take the roar of 50,000 Harleys any day," McCain said, referring to Democrat Barack Obama's recent visit to the German capital.

~snip

McCain played to a crowd that paused for a veterans salute. He criticized Obama for supporting a timetable for withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq while opposing efforts to reduce record-high energy prices.

"My opponent wants to set a date to come home. I want us to come home with victory and honor so we will never go back again," the Arizona senator said.

McCain also criticized Congress for adjourning for a five-week recess without approving a new energy plan.

"Tell em' to come back and get to work," McCain said, yelling into the microphone. "When I'm president of the United States, I'm not going to let them go on vacation. They're gonna become energy independent."

Now this is insane!

Eva Mendes is an actress (Ghost Rider) who is easy on the eyes!  Eva just spent a few weeks in rehab for chemical addiction, but that's beside the point.  Any given weeknight when you turn on the news you'll see death and distruction.  Some footage from the war even shows pools of blood and bodies covered in blood stained canvas.  Disgusting?  Yes!  Necessary? Not really, but it sells and people talk about it.  Now here is where Eva comes in!  Calvin Klein has hired Eva to be the spokesmodel for their new campaing.  There is a print ad AND a tv ad that has been banned in America!  Yep - BANNED due to content.  Check out the ad by clicking the image below...
