On Air Details
I do not have a specific airshift - it depends who is off sick, on vacation, or having babies.  If you hear me, someone else is at home!  I'm like the backup quarterback.  I get the ball and my only job is to not muck it up.

I am also the Program Director of The River 92.9 and Operations Manager for our other Clear Channel sister stations - 1290 The Ticket, 1450 WILM, 94.7 WDSD, and 1410 WDOV.  (Why can't they be BROTHER stations?)   That's a fancy way of saying I'm responsible for the things coming out of your speakers.  The buck stops here so if there is something you like, tell the air personality.  If there is something you don't like, email me. Or leave a message at 302-395-9800, ext. 9859.  And we're always open for fresh ideas.  Consider me you "Suggestion Box."
What About Bob?
Like most Delawareans - I'm not from here.  I moved here from sunny Florida in the Fall of 1997 to begin 94.7's journey as "The Rock of Delaware."  I have lived in many places; something that allows me to participate in nearly any early party conversation.  I can be from anywhere I want -- (chronologically) Los Angeles, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Charlotte, Clearwater, Birmingham, Atlanta, Summit (NJ), Raleigh, Tampa, and Wilmington.

Make no mistake, Delaware is my home.  My lovely wife has lived here her whole life and my 4 1/2-year old boy has always called Delaware home.  I work with a great group of people, a great group of radio stations, and a great company.  Assuming they allow me to stay, I will be here for many years to come.

A Father's Pride

John Hanson's video of his son catching a ball for the first time (CLICK HERE to see it) reminded me of all those "special moments."  I remember the first word, the first steps, learning to pull my finger -- all the great moments.  THEN there are those moments when although I know it's hereditary, it's frightening.  My son got his "dance genes" from me.  And I have proof....

Thank you for sharing MY special moment.  I need a drink.

Eat Like A Champion

Michael Phelps is proving himself to be the greatest swimmer who ever lived.  He will be wearing more Olympic Gold Medals than any other mammal in the history of the world.  So, what does an Olympic-caliber athlete eat?  Lots -- around 12,000 calories a day.  That's around 6 times what you and I should be eating.  Of course, he burns it off in the pool.  No body fat on THAT boy!

So, what does 12,000 calories of food look like?  Max Morgan passed this along to me:

MICHAEL PHELPS' 12,000 CALORIE-A-DAY DIET (New York Post)
  • Breakfast:
  • Three fried-egg sandwiches loaded with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise.
  • Snack:
  • Two cups of coffee, a five-egg omelet, a bowl of grits, three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar and three chocolate-chip pancakes.
  • Lunch:
  • A pound of enriched pasta and two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread - capping off the meal by chugging about 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.
  • Dinner:
  • A pound of pasta and an entire pizza.
  • He washes all that down with another 1,000 calories worth of energy drinks.

Yum!

Memory Lane

I had a few nice days off, taking in the sun and sand of Myrtle Beach.  While I try to master my video editing software ("fish meet bicycle"), I'll give you a stroll down memory lane.  It's been around the planet a couple of times and I don't know who did it - but thank you!
